Jakarta – Director General of Human Rights of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Mualimin Abdi welcomed the Swiss delegation. The Delegation led by Swiss Ambassador to Indonesia, Mrs. Ivyone Boumann was intended to discuss the development of human rights in Indonesia.
The Indonesian – Swiss Human Rights Consultation is the 4th occasion in 2017. The meeting discussed the development of human rights issues of both countries. As for the human rights issues raised include: Protection of Minority Rights in particular indigenous peoples and religion, freedom of expression, gender, and the capital punishment.
Cooperation between the Ministry of Law and Human Rights under the Directorate General of Human Rights in 2016 – 2017 with the Embassy of Switzerland is the dissemination of the United Nations Convention against Torture which is aimed for law enforcers in the three provinces: Lampung, Pontianak and Surabaya.
